We are looking for highly motivated PhD students and research assistants with great enthusiasm in exploring neuroscience and neurological diseases through the use of diverse in vivo and in vitro models. PhD in Biomedical Sciences/Neuroscience

 

The Department focuses on the relationships between human health, organisms, and diseases, covering specific areas of life sciences such as molecular and cell biology, genetics and genomics, physiology and systems biology, pharmacology and medicinal chemistry, microbiology and immunology, and epidemiology and public health. Particular research disciplines include:

• Cancer Biology

• Regenerative Medicine

• Neuroscience

• Nanomedicine

 

Full-time PhD applicants may also apply for the “Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS)”, which is established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR Government aiming at attracting students with outstanding qualities of academic performance, research potential, interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. HKPFS offers:

• A monthly stipend 

• A conference and research-related travel allowance per year

• An additional entrance scholarship covering tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fess for the first year of studies

PhD in Veterinary Sciences

 

The PhD programme in Veterinary Sciences is an interdisciplinary programme open to outstanding graduate students who wish to conduct state-of-the-art basic, clinical and translational life sciences research alongside research professionals. Particular research disciplines include:

• Comparative Biomedical Sciences

• Immunology and Infectious Disease

• Molecular and Systemic Neuroscience

• Public Health and Epidemiology

The student will be jointly supervised by a faculty advisor from CityU and a faculty advisor from Cornell University.
